A – Penalties

A1.0 All in-race penalties, whether given by iRacing automatically or by live RC, must be served within three laps of receiving the penalty. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification by the iRacing software.

A1.1 If fewer than 3 laps are remaining in the race, failure to serve the penalty will result in iRacing adding penalty time to the total race time for that driver.

A1.2 A “meatball flag” is technically not a penalty, but a race direction. You must pit for repairs within 3 laps and repair your car. Failing to do so results in disqualification by the iRacing software.

A1.3 If fewer than three laps are remaining when you receive the Meatball Flag, you can finish the race without repairs and not receive a penalty.

B – iRacing Penalties

B1.0 The iRacing platform automatically issues penalties for various offenses. It is the responsibility of every driver to know and understand when and how these penalties are administered. No iRacing penalty can, or shall, be cancelled by RC.

C – Race Control Penalties

C1.0 Penalizable offenses assigned by RC:

C1.1 Incidents caused by breaches of the rules for overtaking

C1.2 Forcing a car off the track

C1.3 Orange Zone violation

C1.4 Start procedure breaches

C1.5 Post-race car contacts

C1.6 Reckless driving

C1.7 Blocking

C1.8 Not complying with Blue Flag requirements

C1.9 Intentional wrecking

C1.10 Cutting the track and gaining advantage

C1.11 Bad sportsmanship, i.e., cheating and gaining an advantage

C1.12 Use of abusive, derogatory, or profane language

C1.13 Failure to comply with RC directives

C1.14 RC shall not issue a penalty to a driver that is on the final lap of the race, as that would not allow the driver to serve the penalty in-race. Instead, a post-race time penalty shall be issued.

C1.15 If RC has not had time to review an incident before the end of the race but subsequently deems a driver responsible, they can issue a post-race time penalty to be added to the driver’s total race time.

C1.16 Post-race penalties may be issued by RC after a race if an incident was not reviewed before the race finished.

C1.17 Race Control will post any penalties, identifying the incident time, parties involved, and associated CRG rule number(s) within 24 hours after the conclusion of the race.

D – Penalty License & LPPs

D1.0 If the series uses a Penalty License system, the following applies:

D1.1 Each Series driver is issued a penalty license with zero LPP at the beginning of a Series.

D1.2 All LPPs are cumulative throughout the Series.

D1.3 Drivers who accrue 8 LPP (Pro, Club, Sport) or 10 LPP (Challenge) on their penalty license will receive a 1-race ban, and their penalty license will be reset to 5 LPP. For example, if you get 8 LPP on your license by Event 5, you will miss Event 6 and then resume at Event 7 with 5 LPP points on your penalty license.

D1.4 A race ban cannot be used as a dropped race in a series.

D1.5 LPPs are issued as follows:

D1.6 Incidents caused by breaches of the rules for overtaking – 2 LPP

D1.7 Forcing a car off the track – 2 LPP

D1.8 Orange Zone incident – 3 LPP

D1.9 Start procedure breaches: advantage gained – 3 LPP /no advantage gained – 2 LPP

D1.10 Intentional post-race car contacts – 3 LPP

D1.11 Reckless driving – 4 LPP

D1.12 Not complying with Blue Flag requirements – 2 LPP

D1.13 Intentional wrecking – immediate disqualification;  4 LPP + 1 race ban

D1.14 Use of abusive, derogatory, or profane language – 4 LPP

D1.15 Disqualification issued by RC – 4 LPP.  Note: No LPPs are given for disqualification due to reaching the incident limit of an event.

D1.16 A violation of the PCA Code of Ethics & Conduct, the iRacing Official Sporting Code, or the event rules.

D1.17 The severity of the breach will determine the number of points issued, at the discretion of RC or the IRR Team, 1 to 4 LPP

E – Clean Driver Award

E1.0 If a series or event has a clean driver award, any issued LPPs shall be added to the driver’s total incident points (X’s).
