Series Review
Seven races, some of the most famous North American tracks, a packed field of screaming Porsche 911 RSRs each with distinct liveries carrying PCA Sim Racers representing each driver’s PCA Regional Clubs in North America, and a live broadcast with professional commentators following actions up-and-down the field – this pretty much sums up Series 2.
The Podium eSports live broadcast with professional commentators closely followed the professional-grade wheel-to-wheel action throughout the field across all races, showcasing some of the most action-packed scenes in e-motorsports.
Series Races
The state of the art flat-six mid-engine 4.0 liter, normally aspirated engine producing 510 hp that races in the LM-GTE category in series including IMSA, WEC, and Le Mans introduced a new level of racing in the iRacing platform. The 911 RSR screamed through the world-class North American tracks, through the Andretti Hairpin at Laguna Seca and around the famous bus stop chicane at Daytona.
Series 2 implemented a mandatory pitstop, forcing drivers to strategize their race based on when to take on additional fuel to finish the race. Some drivers used lift-and-coast strategies at times to conserve fuel, while others pit early when they found themselves being held back by traffic ahead to undercut those ahead – and yes, some ran out of fuel at the end of the races.
Podium
Series 2 was dominated by the Series Champion William Levesque (P1, Rennsport Region PCA) who claimed the trophy for each of the seven (7) races, followed by John Koch (P2, Chicago Region PCA) and Michael Polasek (P3, Northern New Jersey Region PCA).
