Teams
Teams are based on:
- the car selected
- the class selected
- the Team Manager
If any of these 3 criteria change during the 2025 TRS season, the team will be considered a new team and lose all points of the previous team.
- Team Managers should sign up here.
- If you don’t know all your drivers yet, include yourself as Team Manager and anyone else known.
- Team drivers – except the Team Manager – can change teams and classes twice during the series. This is an effort to add maximum flexibility to the schedule.
- All drivers and Team Managers must purchase PCA Sim Racing 2025 Grid Pass.
- All drivers and Team Managers must be current members of the PCA Sim Racing leagues Pro, Club, Sport, or Challenge class.
- A minimum of 2 drivers and an unlimited maximum of drivers can be on a team.
- Driver classifications will be determined after the Series 12 rebalancing scheduled immediately after S12.
Pace Lap
- A short pace lap will be used if iRacing permits it on the event track.
- Weaving around, hard braking, hard accelerating, and lagging back to get a “run” on the field is forbidden on the pace lap.
- Drivers who are observed doing any of the above will be given one verbal warning by Race Control.
- If it continues, a drive-through penalty is assigned by Race Control after the start of the race.
- Making contact with another competitor on the pace lap is subject to a drive-through penalty assigned by Race Control after the start of the race.
Race Starts
- The start will be rolling.
- Drivers should maintain pace car speed until the green.
- Races start when iRacing shows the green flag / green lights.
- There are no restrictions on passing once the race has started.
- There will be no Full Course Yellows (FCYs), so no race restarts.
- If a car is involved in an incident that is deemed as their fault from the time it starts rolling off the grid to 10 minutes into the race, the car will receive a 15-second stop and hold penalty.
Overlap
- When any two cars are beside each other such that if either car moves in the direction of the other car they would end up occupying the same space.
Passing
- The overtaking driver is responsible for completing a clean, safe pass.
- To establish position and be considered alongside the trailing car’s front axle must be ahead of the rear axle of the leading car.
- An overtaking driver who does not have the position to make the pass will be deemed responsible for an incident if any arises out of the move.
Illegal Blocking
- Drivers are allowed one defensive move before the braking zone, provided there is no overlap and that sufficient space or time exists for the chasing car to react.
- Illegal blocking is subject to a penalty.
LPPs and IRRs
- There are no LPPs in the 2025 TRS.
- All penalties will be applied by:
- race control (RC)
- the IRR Team if an RC decision is challenged
Incident Race Review
- Read the information carefully on the Incident Race Review form.
- The process will have no exceptions as defined in the IRR form.
- The following timeline will be used before posting the race official results:
- A link to each race replay will be posted on this page within 3 hours of the race.
-
- Race Control will post race penalties within 3 hours of the race.
- IRRs should be submitted no sooner than 24 hours after the race and no later than 48 hours after the race.
- The IRR Team has up to 7 calendar days to respond.
- Once the class IRRs have been returned from the IRR Team, the Timing & Scoring group will process the results within 48 hours.
Broadcast
- All 5 races will be broadcast live, with announcer teams.
Race Communication
- We encourage teams to request their own Discord channel. Send a message to the SC here.
- For team communications, you’re welcome to use any resource you prefer (Discord, Teamspeak, etc.), but Race Control will use only iRacing’s in-game voice chat/radio system.
- The winning team in each class should join the PCA Sim Racing Discord Broadcasts Interview Waiting Room immediately after the race conclusion.
Race Control & Penalties
- Race Control will be active for the entire race.
- No iRacing AI penalty will be cleared except for disqualification before the 100 incident maximum.
Incident Points
- 50 points = first penalty (drive-through)
- 10 points = each additional penalty (drive-through)
- 100 points = car/team disqualification
No variance in incident points for the partially wet Spa race.
2025 TRS Overall Clean Team
Criteria:
- Least number of incident points for the team
- Overall team regardless of class
- Takes the checkered flag in all 5 races
- Individual drivers on the team will get an award
Potential Technical Issues
- Use only Ethernet-cabled connections to join PCA Sim Racing events.
- Do not use WiFi to connect to a PCA Sim Racing event.
- Drivers with a poor internet connection may be removed from the race after the following steps:
-
- Any driver who has a bad connection will be alerted with a warning by Race Control.
- A second warning will be sent to the driver by Race Control after 3 minutes.
- “If the connection doesn’t stabilize after 5 minutes, RC will instruct the driver to pit, and have another driver on the team take over.
- Connection issues can many times be resolved by rebooting the computer, or router, or reducing the home Internet connection load.
- If there is an additional problem and the driver’s connection remains unstable, they will, unfortunately, need to leave the server for the race so it does not affect the race quality for other competitors.
- Drivers are welcome to rejoin the race after resolving their internet problems.
